E-assessment is the use of information technology for any assessment-related activity. Within the national training system, it involves the use of information technology in the design, delivery and administration of assessment activities which contribute to the award of nationally recognised Statements of Attainment or qualifications under the Australian Qualifications Framework.
A set of national guidelines was developed in 2011 to guide e-assessment, while another research study looked at how to promote understanding between auditors and VET practitioners of the issues relating to e-assessment and the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF):
