Welcome

There is a thriving e-learning community in Tasmania. On these web pages you will find information about what activity is being funded and supported by the Framework. We have noticed a change this year: more and more organisations are seeing e-learning as necessary to accomplish their business goals.

The headline item in 2009 will be the E-learning Innovations Program.  The team of E-learning Coordinators (listed below) are the other important aspect of Framework activities.  We are here to assist you with all your e-learning needs: whether you are just getting started, or are well underway and want some advice on using a specific Framework product, or you are an enterprise wanting to make more use of technology for training, we are here to help you.

It's still all about partnerships!

It is wonderful that so many enthusiastic and training providers and enterprises have chosen to participate in the Tasmanian E-learning Innovations Program.

The Australian Flexible Learning Framework (Framework) provides the vocational education and training (VET) system with essential e-learning infrastructure and expertise needed to respond to the challenges of a modern economy and the training needs of Australian businesses and workers.

The Framework's E-learning Innovations Program is about integrating e-learning in RTOs, across industries, in enterprises, and within organisations working with specific learner groups.

ARED Workshops

Learn how to make your own online resources quickly and easily

AREDv2 (Application for Rapid E-learning Development) is an e-learning development tool designed to allow teachers and trainers, with little more than basic computer skills, easily build their own online resources.

Users choose from six common and basic e-learning templates into which they can simply insert subject material. The created activities can then be used independently or loaded into a learning management system as part of a learning program.

During August, September and October we will be holding  one-day ARED workshops which will be a hands-on experience that will allow participants to become familiar with and use ARED.

Interactive sessions will include: . an overview of ARED; . an introduction to the ARED administration tools and six dynamic templates; . using of check lists thfor the pre-development activities and file management; . hands-on experience in the use of three of ARED's dynamic templates to create media rich materials at can be used as e-learning materials or placed delivery platforms; and. using ARED administration tools to create a learning sequence.

Participants will need computer skills including an understanding of basic file management using Microsoft's Windows Explorer.

The workshops will run from 9-4pm and places are restricted to 10 participants per event. For further information  please contact an E-learning Coordinator.
