Businesses, RTOs and community organisations are co-investing to conduct pathway programs as a workforce development initiative for employees or to provide opportunities for individuals seeking to upgrade their skills.
This website will provide access to the information and resources produced as outputs of the strategy, and serve as a community hub for e-learning networks and connections. Action at jurisdictional level will continue to encourage RTOs and other organisations to become involved in the opportunities promoted through the strategy and take advantage of the available advice, support and resources.
Assisting learners to pursue educational pathways, through e-portfolio/a framework of guidelines for a national e- portfolio approach, and e-learning programs for higher qualifications.
The Higher Qualification Pathways Project is part of the Learner Pathways Business Activity and aims to assist learners to pursue educational pathways through e-learning programs for higher qualifications by providing contestable, co-investment funding for RTOs, industry and community organisations to investigate innovative technology-based delivery and/or support models which allow individuals to gain higher VET qualifications, skills sets (at Diploma level or higher) and/or entry into higher education.
Stage 1 funding was completed in early December and successful applicants have been funded to undertake a pilot during January to June 2012 which consists of a trial with a group of 10 learners or more learners who are aiming to articulate to a higher qualification or an improved employment outcome. Findings from the trial will be presented as a business case/project plan to determine whether successful teams will be eligible to receive further funding of up to $40,000 (excluding GST) to scale up/out their project in July-December 2012 in Stage 2 (if selected and on-going funding being available).

In early 2012 the New Generation Technologies for Learning business activity (also known as E-standards for Training) will be seeking co-investment applications for funding of up to $20,000 (plus GST) for Emerging Technology Trials that will increase VET sector's capacity to facilitate new ways of learning with technology, and result in positive educational outcomes.
